|Handcuffs or Steve's Loop
Handcuffs is sometimes called "Steve's Trail". I've heard explanations for the different names. I just call it Handcuffs. This is a very fun trail. Most of it isn't very challenging. There are a few rock outcroppings here and there, but it isn't tough. Towards the west end of the trail, there is a pretty steep hill. I've made it up the hill and down the hill (depending on which direction you're going) but it takes a bit of skills to do so. The spectacular feature of this trail is the proximety of the trail to the cliff's edge. Look at the photos and you'll see what I mean.
This trail is best done in combination with other trails. Warm up on Rustler's loop enjoy a little romp around Horsethief Bench' follow Mary's around and then take the cutoff down on to Handcuffs. If you take the access road back, you'll end up with a great ride that is between 18 and 20 miles in lenght. If you're feeling adventurous, take Moore Fun back instead of the access road. It'll add a few miles or so indistance and a whole lot of technical stuff.
Handcuffs is just as much fun in either direction. I love to climb, so I like it going clockwise.
